LCA Leonberger Hall of Fame

The LCA Leonberger Hall of Fame was established in 2010, on our 25th anniversary, to honor LCA Leonbergers who have excelled in the show world, performance competition, service work, therapy, and as versatile canine companions. We also honor LCA Leonbergers who have accomplished a significant first for the breed in the US. For complete details of the qualification and nomination process please go to

The Hall of Fame Leonbergers are divided in to seven Galleries:

LCA National Specialty Best in Specialty(BISS) and Best of Opposite in Specialty(BOS) in two sections 1986-1999, 2000-2010 
38 Leonbergers have earned BISS or BOS since the first LCA Specialty in 1986. There have been 7 multiple winners:
Iwan von Rossback "Iwan" - BISS-1986, BISS -1990, BOS-1991
Stjarnbackas Effraim von Poppel "Baloo" - BISS -1996, BISS - 1997, BOS -1998
Banjo von Klingelberg "Banjo" - BISS -1988, BISS - 1991
Bella von der Heckenrose "Tiger" BOS -1990, BISS - 1992
Lady Wora Killiana of Pelgrims Ring "Killi" - BISS - 1995, BOS 1996
Jamaica von Alpensee "Cheyene" - BISS - 2004, BOS - 2007
Forever Green's Keepsake "Katie" - BIS 2005, BOS - 2006

The Show Career
The Leonbergers in this Gallery had outstanding records in the show ring  prior to entering the AKC Working Class in July 2010 and will include future high achievers in the AKC world and in LCA Regional Club Specialties.
 
Performance Leonbergers
These Leonbergers have earned the equivalent of an AKC Excellent Title in the following performance events:
Agility, Obedience,Water Work, Herding and Tracking.  
Leonbergers who have earned a third level title or higher in canine sports such as Flyball and Dock Jumping or who have earned the first and only title for a Leonbergber in a performance venue are also included in this Gallery.

Service and Therapy Dogs
These Leonbergers have been certified and have excelled in their chosen activity which include Search and Rescue, Service Dog and Therapy Dog

Versatile Canine Companions
These Leonbergers have earned the LCA Versatile Leo Excellent Title or the AKC Versatile Companion Dog 1 Title. This Gallery also includes Leonbergers that have been inducted through the nomination process because they demonstrate Leonbergers at their best as Great Canine Companions.

Significant Firsts
These Leonbergers were the first to achieve recognition in a number of venues including:
First LCA Champion, First ARBA Champion, First UKC Champion, First Obedience Title, First Agility Title, First Draft Dog Title, First Water Rescue Dog Title, First Herding Dog, First Tracking Dog, First Dock Jumping Title, First Flyball Title, First Therapy Dog, First SAR Dog, and First Service Dog. Leonbergers with First Titles in AKC competion will also be included.
