Purpose: The business, property, and affairs of the Leonberger Club of America shall be managed by the Board of Directors. The LCA Board of Directors meets face to face bi-annually, at our national specialty and our mid-year meeting. We also utilize conference calls and e-meetings as necessary to facilitate club operations. All board meetings are open to any LCA member in good standing.
Composition: The Board shall be comprised of nine members, all of whom shall be members in good standing and residents of the United States, Canada or Mexico. There shall be three (3) Directors elected annually by expiring terms and these shall be three(3) year terms. No Director may serve for more than two (2) successive elected three year terms without remaining off the Board until the next annual meeting. The LCA officers (President, Vice-President & Recording secretary) are elected annually by the LCA board immediately following the election results at the annual general membership meeting.
Ex Officio Board members:
The Board shall designate a Corresponding secretary, Registrar, and Treasurer, either from the members of the Board or the general membership. Non-Board members designated to one of these positions shall be ex officio (non-voting) members of the Board, if not already members of the regular Board. These positions are not subject to term limits, but serve at the will of the Board. The Board may designate other ex officio Board members as needed from among the general membership.
