Becoming a member of the Leonberger Club of America allows you to participate fully in a wide range of services that the LCA offers.

Leonberger Club of America Registry
The Leonberger Club of America was the official registry of Leonbergers in the United States through the end of 2007. In 2007 the LCA was selected as the Parent Club for Leonbergers by the AKC. The LCA Registry was made available to the AKC which is in the process of providing AKC FSS (Foundation Stock Service) numbers to all Leonbergers in the LCA Registry. As of Jan 1, 2008 the AKC is the official registrar of Leonbergers in the US.

LeoLetter
The LeoLetter is a wonderful quarterly magazine which includes club business, minutes, reports, letters, lots of pictures, and stories from LCA members. Visit the Leo Letter website.

Regional Clubs
LCA Regional clubs exist across the country to meet the needs of regional groups of Leonberger owners and lovers. Most clubs put on many local events such as Leo Walks, LCA-Sanctioned conformation and obedience shows, educational seminars, and much more.

Conformation & Obedience Trials
The LCA provides LCA-sanctioned conformation shows via its annual National Specialty, as well as through the LCA Regional Clubs. Obedience trials are also regularly put on at both the National and at regional shows. Leonbergers with AKC FSS numbers can participate in AKC performance events and in Miscellaneous Class in AKC Comformation Shows.

Educational Seminars
We always have varied interesting speakers at our National Specialties to conduct educational seminars for our members. Many LCA Regional Clubs also provide opportunities for educational seminars at their local events.

Certificate Programs
The LCA has numerous programs for Leonberger owners including the Conformation Certificate program for spayed/neutered dogs, the Therapy Award for dogs who are actively participating in therapy work, Versatile Leonberger Awards to recognize those dogs achieving multiple working titles, and much more.

Litter Information/LCA-breeders list
The LCA provides information on current matings and litters both in the LeoLetter and on our LCA website also. A current LCA member breeders list is also included in both places.

Stud Registry
A full-color stud book is maintained by the LCA Breeding Committee and makes detailed information on stud males available to LCA member breeders and the membership in general.

Active Health Committee
The LCA's Health, Research, and Education Committee has been actively involved in numerous research projects pertaining to the Leonberger and provides an informational website at www.leowatch.org as well as maintaining an Open Health Registry database.

Active relationship with Leonberger Rescue
The LCA has an active relationship with Leonberger Rescue, which works to rehome and rescue all Leonbergers in need. You can visit their website at: www.leonberger-rescue.org

Active relationship with Leonberger Health Foundation
The Leonberger Health Foundation works closely with the Health, Research, and Education Committee of the Leonberger Club of America to identify health concerns in the Leonberger breed. Their mission is to raise funds for canine research that will improve the health of the Leonberger dog through increased knowledge and understanding of canine diseases, in order to improve the quality of life, health, and longevity of Leonberger dogs. You can visit them at: www.leohealth.org

LCA Website
The LCA website exists to provide new and current owners of Leonbergers with detailed information regarding the club, access to all official documents, and news pertaining to the club in general.
