We rely on the expertise of our members, bringing their talent and years of experience to a club and breed they’re passionate about. We’re always looking for volunteers to help in a variety of areas – and open to the suggestions of our members for ways to improve our practices or processes. Volunteer Position

LCA Membership Chair

The LCA is looking for a Membership Chair! This is a super fun job, especially if you enjoy working with people, using your creativity, and extolling the virtues of being an LCA member to attract new members! We hope YOU will consider volunteering for this VERY important role.

As Chair of a six-person committee, you will:

  • Process new applications and maintain membership database records
  • Lead committee meetings: delegate tasks, brainstorm and develop recruitment and retention strategies
  • Gather all provisional member’s names/information and distribute them for review by the membership
  • Serve as Leo Letter Section Editor introducing new members

If you have basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and/or Mac OS, tend to be organized and can communicate effectively this MAY be the perfect volunteer position for you!

Volunteer Position

Treasurer

This volunteer oversees financial transactions for the quarterly magazine and prepares LeoLetter financial reports for the LCA Board.

If you enjoy working with numbers and have some basic accounting or finance experience (preferred but not required) please consider volunteering your time and skills for the LeoLetter.

Volunteer Position

Advertising & Communications Chair

If you enjoy marketing and sales, please consider volunteering your time and skills for the LeoLetter. This individual is responsible for the strategic coordination of communications for the LeoLetter and serves as a liaison between the LeoLetter staff and the LCA Membership.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring that Bulk Purchased Ads are included in each quarterly publication
  • Directing and implementing communication activities with the publication
  • Posting monthly communication updates on the LCA MemberClicks regarding upcoming issue, photo theme submissions, and advertising opportunities

Qualifications of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Background in marketing, sales, or communications preferred, but not required
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Attentive to detail
