The Leonberger Club of America (LCA) has received the AKC EDDY Award for Breeder Education.
The AKC EDDY Award “is designed to encourage and reward Parent Clubs that provide extensive Breeder Education to anyone interested in breeding their breed,” says the AKC. The LCA offers resources, mentorship and support to member-breeders; including seminars, and an extensive educational website, www.leo-u.info.
“We are honored to be recognized. The AKC EDDY Award is a big deal, and it reflects on the many wonderful volunteers we have helping our breeders to be as knowledgeable as possible, says Lynn Gregory, Board Member and LCA Secretary.
Gina DiNardo, Executive Secretary, AKC says “We know that good and healthy dogs come from conscientious breeders, and breeder education is a key part of that. We are excited to recognize clubs that are making a concerted effort towards continuing education for breeders that are passionate about preserving their breed and doing so responsibly.”
